Brian Robert Nolan, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 23, 2014.

Born September 30, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, Brian was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Finnegan) Nolan.

After high school, Brian joined the U.S. Marine Corps with a rank of captain and did two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Brian earned his degree from the Dayton Art Institute and graduated from the University of Dayton in 1966. He was an avid member of the Grundy County Historical Society, a Civil War enthusiast. He was an avid outdoorsman and wood sculptor. Brian was a Friend of the squirrels. Brian was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris.

Surviving are his three daughters, Karrie Nolan-Proctor, Michaelle Nolan, and Wendy Nolan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Brian's life will be held at Lonnie's Art Gallery, located at 108 W. Washington Street, Morris, on Tuesday evening, June 3, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, located at 516 E. Jackson Street in Morris. A Mass for Brian will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Edward J. Howe, CR as presider. Interment will be held at a later date.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
