Died: September 4, 2018; in Shoreline, WA

Gary L. Lawless, age 66, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 4 at Park Ridge Care Center, Shoreline, WA. Born September 22, 1951 in Morris, IL. He was raised and educated in Gardner, IL GSW Class of 69.

Gary, served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a proud veteran.

A machinist by trade he worked for Federal Paper Board after his service, alongside his father for many years, and also was a bargemen. After moving to Mauston, Wisconsin he worked for Parker Industries in his later years. As a young man he loved his 69 Camarillo and taking rides. He also, enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and hiking and was an avid rock collector, artist and jewelry designer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and doing crossword puzzles. Gary will always be remembered for his sense of humor, practical jokes and artwork.

He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Lawless of Sandwich IL; brother, David Lawless; and sister, Heidi (Dennis) Lawless-Glastetter of Morris IL; four grandchildren, Andrea, Nina, Bliss and Tyler; 3 great grandchildren, Angle, Kaylee and Daron; nephew, Mason Soper; and niece, Calleen Soper; family friends, Stacy Wix and DJ.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Walter and Freida Lawless, Morris IL; and his oldest daughter, Heather Lawless, Oak Harbor, WA.

A graveside service for Gary will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:30 am at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
