Isabel Berrong Born: Sept. 3, 1932; Stonefort, IL Died: Jan. 2, 2014; Joliet, IL Isabel Berrong (nee Dunning), age 81, of Gardner, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Born September 3, 1932 to the late Henry and Lettie (nee Dunn) Dunning. Isabel enjoyed watching NCIS, shopping at Walmart and going out to eat. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Surviving are two sons, Delbert (Helen) Berrong of Braceville, and Richard (fianc?e Marlena McGee) Berrong of Gardner; three daughters, Deborah Chambers, Connie Chambers, and Mary Connolly, all of Gardner; ten grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Carroll (Randall) Sturgill of Omaha, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Delbert S. Berrong, whom she married October 7, 1950 in Harco, Illinois; and an infant daughter, Betty Jean. Local visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd. & Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Saturday, January 4, 2014, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Visitation will also be at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, Illinois, Monday, January 6, from 10:00-12:00 with funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Steven Dunning will officiate. Interment will be in Palestine Cemetery in Carrier Mills, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her name may be directed to the family.
