Jesus Delgado Obituary
Jesus Delgado

Jesus Delgado, 77, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 3, 2018 surrounded by family at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence. He was the husband of Margarita Diaz de Delgado. They shared 46 years of marriage.

Jesus was born in a small town in Mexico. He was son the first born of Salvador and Josefa Delgado and left Mexico in the mid-70s to give his family a better life. He was employed many years at Smurfit as a machine operator. Even after he retired, he continued to work because sitting around "doing nothing" was not his thing. He continued working well into his 70s. Among working, he enjoyed building things, anything that would keep him busy. He enjoyed gardening and farming pumpkins. Especially his tomatillos that he knew would make a dollar. His hard work for his family had not gone unseen.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita Delgado; his children, Blanca Ruiz (Adan), Lorena Favela (Isaac), Rosalva Valenciano (Fidel), and Jose Delgado (Amy). Also 15 grandchildren, Yamilex, Alondra, Lysett, Maria, Alma, Victor, Viviana, Christian, Jazmin, Liliana, Ximena, Isaac Jr, Joseph, Jeremiah, and Sofia. Jesus was also survived by his 7 brothers and sisters, Sorcorro, Heriberto, Maria del Refugio, Consuelo, Manuel, Teresa, and Nicolas.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Edward J. Howe, CR as Presider. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted with U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, 301 W. Washington Street, Morris, IL. For further information visit the website at www.ucdaviscallahan.com or contact the funeral home at 815-942-0084.
