Julie Ann Franklin Leach passed away Saturday February 24, 2018, at her home.

She was born August 5, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Gene and Hermione (Stevenson) Franklin.

She moved from Cherryvale, Kansas with her family in 1960 to Mazon, Illinois, where she graduated from MVK High School with the Class of 1967. She graduated from Joliet Junior College in 1991 with an A.A.S. -Accounting Degree.

She married the love of her life, Merle Leach on April 27, 1975 in the Methodist Church in Mazon. They resided in Mazon and Morris their entire married life. Her beloved Merle preceded her in death on December 29, 2011.

She retired from Lyondell Basell in 2009 after 30 years of employment. Her loves were her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and giving.

Julie is survived by her three precious Gems, Tammy (Keith) Leach Hibbler of Michigan, Andrea (Tonya Burtchett) Leach of Indiana and Candice (Yassine) El Mekkaoui of North Carolina; three brothers, James (Sonia) Franklin of Maine, John (Shirley Sinclair) Franklin and Joel (Lee Ann) Franklin of Morris; sister, Jeanne (Walt) Lobb of Kentucky; stepsisters, Beverly Vick of Kansas and Gaynell (Ed) Bowman of Oklahoma; dear friend, Sherry Lewis of Mazon and many other close friends, too many to mention but just as important; granddaughters, Amber, Heather (Ryan), Ashley (Thomas), Olivia of NC and Brittany of PA; grandson, Scott (Heather) of NC; great granddaughters and grandsons, Leigha, Lakelyn, Alyssa, Isabel, Naomi, Tyler, Aiden, Jackson and Mason of NC; nieces and nephews, Johnna (Noel), Sheila (Vic), Jodi (John), Anna (Rob), Jarin (Sarah) all of Illinois, Jill (Eric) of Wisconsin, Kristin (Doug) of NH, Michelle (Jeff) of Maine, Jack (Lura) of Missouri, Christopher (Tammy) of TN, Jonathan (Patricia) of New York and Tony of Minnesota; great nieces and nephews, Drew, Katie, Jared, Jesse, Jace, Justin, Wyatt, Daniel, Bella Rose, Zoe, Maxim, Cole, Lina and Lauren of Illinois, John, Karolyn and Kyle of NH, Elliot and Miles of Maine, and Bella Sabrina and Jenna of Missouri; brother-in-law, Curt Leach; sister-in-law, Brenda Noonan; mother-in-law, Anna Mae Leach; many cousins; Aunt, Marjorie Hummer of California.

She is preceded in death by her parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; husband, Merle; infant sister, Joyce; infant grandson, Dane; stepmother, Myra Jean Weitzel-Franklin; son-in-law, Terry Hanahan; sister-in-law, Darlene Franklin; and father-in-law, Earl "Cootie" Leach.

Visitation for Julie will be held on Thursday March 1, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. Enhanced video tributes will be played during the visitation. A Celebration of Julie's life will be held on Friday March 2, 2018 at 10:30, officiated by Pastor Lora Zink. Burial will be at Mazon Brookside Cemetery.
