Mary Ann Jackson, 90, of Stavanger, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Pleasant View in Ottawa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Stavanger Lutheran Church in rural Seneca with Rev. Philip Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born July 1, 1927, in Freedom Township, LaSalle County, IL, to Peter and Malene (Rasmussen) Erickson. On July 16, 1949, she married Robert Jackson in Seneca.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Seneca High School and was employed for several years at Morris Hospital. She was an active member of Stavanger Lutheran Church and Stavanger Lutheran Church women; and a former member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.

With her husband, they were prominent breeders of Dorset sheep and purebred Pekingese show dogs. Their dog business resulted in them traveling extensively throughout the United States as well as England, where they made many close friends.

Mary Ann is survived her loving husband, Robert; four children, Gail (James) Steele, Cynthia (Gary) Erickson, Van (Kristin) Jackson, and Kim (Connie) Jackson; her grandchildren, Dr. Dr. Jennifer Steele, Shane (Molly) Steele, Robert (Morgan) Steele, Andrea Steele, Nathan Steele, Adam (Megan) Diss, Luke (Nikki Funkhauser) Jackson, Hope (C. J. Komarynsky) Jackson, Heather (Justin) Terry and Matthew (Natalie) Jackson; her step-grandchildren, Christine (Carl) Hardee, Steven (Lauren) Erickson, Bryan (Jamie) Erickson, and Matthew Erickson; nine great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gerd Zimmerman; and a brother, Ralph Erickson.

Pallbearers will be Adam Diss, Shane Steele, Matthew Jackson, Robert Steele, Nathan Steele, and C.J. Komarynsky. 1st Lt. Luke Jackson (USMC deployed) will be an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Stavanger Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank Pastor Phil Peterson and Stavanger Lutheran Church for their loving support, as well as Pleasant View Luther Home, and Serena, David, and Sarah from Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care.
