JoAnn Irine Redman Shipe, age 79 of Mount Gilead, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Marion General Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1934 in Bucyrus to the late Morris and Eva (Heid) Hildenbrand.
JoAnn was a retired factory worker from Ohio Arundale Inc. in Mount Gilead. She also worked at Cosmo, the Regional Planning Office and the Chamber of Commerce Office. JoAnn was a member of the Center United Methodist Church and a member of the Amvets Auxiliary in Mount Gilead. She loved to decorate cakes and enjoyed bowling.
On April 3, 1949, JoAnn married Harold Redman in Greenup, Kentucky who preceded her in death on October 10, 1995. She later married Arthur David Shipe on June 24, 2001, who also preceded her in death on June 14, 2002.
JoAnn is survived by her children: Sandy (Larry) Wigton of Cardington, Ron (Pat) Redman of Cardington, and Becky (Dan) Newell of Upper Sandusky; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, JoAnn was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Adams, and step-daughter, Pat Swan.
Friends may call on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 South Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Lamb-Hart will officiate. Following the service the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
