BOARDMAN: Memorial Services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cornersburg, OH at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Duane Jesse will be officiating the service with a luncheon to follow.
Margaret Glines, age 98, was born in Youngstown,Ohio on March 29, 1916, daughter of Sidney and Sarah Irving Jackson. She was formerly of Austintown and then Boardman prior to living with her daughter, Kathy Duffy, in Mt. Gilead, OH. Margaret passed away peacefully Friday evening, Aug. 15th at Sterling House Assisted Living in Marion, OH with her youngest daughter, Sarah, by her side.
Margaret worked for the Erie Railroad prior to her marriage to Bertrand Glines in August of 1944. While raising her family she also worked in Food Services at General Motors in Lordstown and retired as a retail clerk from the former Walden's Bookstore, Eastwood Mall, Niles, OH. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. She was a special companion to her grandson, Kevin, always accompanying him to various hospitals and doctor visits for years.
Margaret was a former member of the Austintown Band Parents Association and a former treasurer of The Warren Jr. Military Band. She was a dedicated volunteer in the church office of Zion Lutheran, a former choir member of the church and a Sunday School teacher. She worked for years on the luncheons for the Bereavement Committee and was a former member of the church's Bible Study group.
Margaret's memory will be cherished by her son Tom (Meg) Glines of Boardman, OH, daughter Kathy Duffy of Mt. Gilead with whom she made her home before entering Sterling House, and daughter Sarah Glines of Mt. Gilead. Also remembering Margaret are Sister in Law, Ruth Jackson of Vienna, OH; Nephew, Jim (Sue) Jackson of Niles, OH and their families and Niece, Jeanette (Ray) Gollan of Brookfield, OH and their children and grandchildren. She will be forever loved and missed by Granddaughter Carey Lynn ( Jeremy) Walters of Nashua, NH, Grandson, Kevin Glines of Boardman, OH and Great Grandchildren, Rebecca Sarah and Matthew Kevin Walters of Nashua, NH.
Deceased relatives of Margaret are parents, Sidney and Sarah Jackson, husband Bert Glines, brother Sidney Jackson and Son in Law, Gerry Duffy.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers any tributes would be in honor of Margaret's love and devotion to her church:
