Next, she had the honor and privilege of holding the same position for the talented Osteopath, A.F. Southard, D.O. for over 17 years, where she retired from in 1987.

A woman with a faithful and gentle soul, Maxine was a dedicated and lifelong member of the Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion. She also faithfully read her New Testament Bible every day.

Maxine lived a simple life, focused around caring for her home and family and going to church. Her beautiful smile and heart, also made her easy to fall in love with.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Stevens) Gates and John Gates of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Including her husband and parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her infant son, Stanley Ray Stevens in 1952; and by her two sisters and brothers-in-law: Hazel (Lloyd) Reed and Aldine (David) Rinehart.
