Rowiena Lawrence(1962 - 2013)

Rowiena A. Lawrence, age 50, of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, February 26, 2013 at her father's residence, with her family by her side.
On November 10, 1962, Rowiena was born in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Harold M. ""Mick"" Lawrence and the late Shirley M. (Meade) Lawrence. She graduated from Watkins Memorial High School in Pataskala in the Class of 1981.
For many years, Rowiena worked as a nurse's aide in several nursing homes in the area.
Rowiena enjoyed crocheting, especially making afghans and baby blankets for family and friends. She also liked camping, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, puzzles, games, crafts, and shopping with her daughter Rachel. She had a special relationship with her dog, a teacup chihuahua named Lady Bug. Rowiena showed her love of animals by volunteering at the Morrow County Dog Shelter.
Although she was hard headed and ornery at times, she was always the go to person in the family and a very loving person to everyone she knew.
Rowiena will be dearly missed by her fiancé, David Chapman of Mount Gilead; her daughter, Rachel (Justin) Warden of Johnstown; two grandchildren; Gavin and Landin Warden of Johnstown; her father, Mick of Mount Gilead; two sisters: Juanita Burch of Mount Vernon, Crystal Burch of Mount Gilead; a brother, Edward (Tosha) Lawrence of Mount Gilead; and her former husband David McCoy of Coshocton.
The Lawrence family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services celebrating her life will be held there on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Mosser officiating. Burial will follow at Bryn Zion Cemetery.
