Sidola "Si" Marie Stokes Wehr, age 89, of Columbus and formerly Mount Gilead, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the Kobacker House
She was born July 16th 1924 in Huntington, Arkansas, the daughter of Margaret and Ray Stokes.
On June 10th 1945 Sidola married Robert E. Wehr, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 25, 1979. They were married at the 1st Lutheran Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Together they moved to Avondale Avenue in Columbus Ohio in 1945 and Mount Gilead Ohio in 1951.
She graduated from St. Ann's Academy in Fort Smith and attended the Fort Smith Junior College.
She is a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, past Board member at Seniors on Center as Secretary and Treasurer, member of the Buttercup Twig, worked for Red Cross, and volunteered with: the Morrow County Election Board, the Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way.
Sidola was an avid bridge player. Many a weekends were spent playing couples bridge and during the week with the ladies bridge clubs.
She will be dearly missed by her four children: Patti (Dennis) Crum of Lawton, OK, Sandi (Richard) Dion of North Waterford, ME, Robert (Jennie) Wehr of Cardington, and Jeffrey Wehr of Traverse City, MI; eight grandchildren: Tammy Crum, Jason Webb, Steven Dion, Kelly Dion, Joan Wehr, Emma Wehr, Collin Wehr, Keyra Culbertson; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Chad Crum.
Family will greet friends from 1:30-3 p.m on Wednesday, October 16, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 North Main Street, Mount Gilead, OH. A service celebrating Sidola's life will be at 3 p.m., with Pastor Carl Schaefer officiating.
