Donald L. Dawson (Don), known as Donnie to his close friends, longtime resident of San Francisco CA, passed away on July 21,2014 at age 58 with his best friend, caregiver and guardian angel Sue Sipe by his side.

Don was born May 11,1956 in Mt. Gilead, OH . He was the son of James E. Dawson and Lucile L. Dawson. He attended elementary schools in Chesterville, OH, and Fremont, OH before graduating from high school in 1974 from Lebanon High School, Lebanon, OH. He went on to attend The Ohio State University Agricultural and Technical Institute in Wooster, OH, graduating with an Associates Degree in Floriculture in 1976.

Don is survived by his father James (Jim) Dawson, Mt. Gilead OH, brothers David Dawson (Barb) of Loveland, Oh and Doug Dawson (Gloria) of Dublin, OH, as well as five nieces and nephews. Also his dearest of friends, Sue Sipe. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucile Dawson.

Don was a talented artist excelling in painting, pottery and his profession as a floral designer. He played trombone in both marching and concert bands during high school. Beyond his talents, Don will be forever remembered as one of the kindest and most generous souls to grace this earth and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
