Catherine I. Lyons, age 76, of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after years of illness.
On November 23, 1936, Catherine was born in Morrow County, one of sixteen children of the late Raymond and Flossie (Stoneman) Bilger.
A loving mother and homemaker first and foremost, Catherine also worked as a home health aide for many years, and did anything that was needed at The Inn.
With a love for gardening, Catherine took great pride in tending to her garden.
Catherine simply loved life, and cherished any time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her five children: Bonnie Sloulin of Edison, Karen (Dave) Candel of Galion, Greg (Jenny) Lyons of Marengo, Doug (Melissa) Lyons of Sparta, and Karla (Keith) Lyons of Mount Gilead; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 8 brothers and 3 sisters; and numerous family and friends.
Including her husband and parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stephanie Lyons; and 4 siblings.
Services honoring Catherine's life will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at her graveside in Fulton Cemetery, with Pastor Jay Weaver officiating.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks for any donations to be made to Snyder Funeral Homes.
Catherine's family would like to extend a heartfelt ""Thank You"" to all of the staff of Olentangy Woods, Woodside Village, Morrow County Hospital and Dr. Ghazi, for the wonderful, personal care they and Catherine received.
