Elias J. "Eli" Stepp, age 46 of Marengo, went to be with the Lord, his King on October 5, 2013 after a short illness due to heart failure.
He was born on December 15, 1966 in Columbus to Forrest Stepp and the late Mary Stepp. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1985. He was employed at Nationwide Insurance Company and worked at Cardinal Center helping with the trap shoots. He attended Victory Freewill Baptist Church and a 4-H advisor of the Dixie Stampede 4-H Club.
Eli's passion was to serve God and share the word of God with others. Eli loved to play the drums, enjoyed trap shooting and hunting. He enjoyed playing cards but you had to watch him because he was known to cheat. He loved working with his girls every year getting their livestock ready for the fair and his greatest joy was being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Toni (Boyd) Stepp and they were married May 21, 1993 in Columbus; daughters: Chelsea of Buffalo, NY, Taylor and Casey at home; father: Forrest Stepp of Columbus; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; special brother-in-law: Steven Boyd of Danville and many great in-laws and their families as well as special childhood friends.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61 Sunbury where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jimmy Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
