Gerald Neptune, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, passed away, Monday, June 3, 2013, with his family by his side, Barb Puffenball (sister), Jerry Neptune (son). A time of sorrow, but also of memories of a great man helping others. " Nep" made a difference in people's lives as he was always willing to help others.

"Nep" had a distinguished career in the military, air force and air national guard. He received many awards for outstanding achievements and retired at the highest enlisted rank, chief master sergeant. He did not care about the awards, but cared about making a difference in the military and the people who serve this great country. He changed lives. He did not stop serving his country after retirement as he was appointed to the veterans board for morrow county. He was a bull when helping the veterans and found ways to give the outstanding men and women who served the needed help, both emotionally and financially.

"Nep" enjoyed a a great life but did not stop serving as he was county commissioner and Gilead Township fiscal officer. Again, he went beyond requirements and made a difference in the community. You would see him traveling roads at all times and the Gilead township roads were the best.

"Nep" was preceded in death by his loving wife, Daphne. He is survived by his son, Jerry; daughter in law, Toni; granddaughters Ali and Angela; grandson, Matt; great grand kids Christina, Brent, Casey, and Rachel. He was proud of his family and will be missed by them.

"Nep" was a special dad, grand dad, great grand dad, friend, veteran, and a caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. As his son I cannot express in words what he did for his country, family, and friends. " Nep" or "Dad" will continue to do good with GOD. I thank all who supported me during this time and God bless.

Jerry Neptune,
Proud son of Gerald E. Neptune
