Herbert Parsons

Herbert Parsons, age 82 of Centerburg, died Friday evening February 1, 2013 at Morrow County Hospital Emergency Room in Mount Gilead.

He was born on December 25, 1930 in Columbus to the late Cecil and Lova (Keller) Parsons. He was a retired truck driver, a Korean Conflict Air Force Veteran, member of the Air National Guard and a member of AmVets Post #59, Centerburg.

Herb loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and tinkering on the farm. Herb was very proud of his apple trees that he planted and nurtured on the farm. He loved to spend time watching the wildlife in the evenings on the farm and watching the world go by while sitting on the back porch.

He is survived by sons: Herbert (Christy) Parsons of Marengo, Cecil (Audrey) Parsons of Columbus; daughters: Louella Sue (Harold) Copeland of Sarasota, Fl., Marie (James) Fisher of Marengo, Loretta (Rob) Copeland of Cardington, Laura (Ed) Margraff of Marion; 24 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; sister: Louise Tillis of Columbus

He was preceded in death by daughter: Lorna Louise Damron, Sisters: Kathryn Bourghese, Florence Boyles.

Friends may call Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Deel officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with military graveside services.
