Joan Bush

Joan S. Bush, age 64, of Fredericktown died Saturday March 16, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. She was born May 15, 1948 in Pulaski, OH to the late Ernest J. Wien and Dorothy L. (Swank) Wien-Braden who survives in Mt. Gilead.

Joan was a 1966 graduate of Highland High School and had worked at Marathon, Wendys, and the Plaza Truck Stop. She was a member of the Sacred Hearts Church and was active in the Sacred Hearts Women's Group especially with the groups Bazaars and Garage Sales. Joan loved sewing and doing arts and crafts, and always kept busy with doing those things. She also loved baking cakes whether it was for someone's birthday or even a wedding. Joan really enjoyed her Christmas shopping, so much so that she would shop year around to get everyone's gifts. One of her most favorite things to do was attending family functions though, family was most important to Joan and she was always great at showing her love and affection to everyone.

On Dec. 17, 1966 in St. Mathew's Catholic Church in Mt. Gilead, Joan married James F. Bush and he survives. Joan is also survived by her children; Christina L. (Philip) Coots and Andrew J. Bush both of Fredericktown; six grandchildren: Brian (Angel) Coots, Tony (Kortni) Coots, James (Samantha) Coots, Brandon Bush, Bobby Bush, and Brittany Bush; one great-grandson, Braxtyn and a great-granddaughter on the way; and two sisters, Mary L. (Raymond) Mullen of Shawnee, OK. and Ila M. (Lon) Combs of Galion.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a brother Edwin L. Wien, sister Norma J. Richey and step-father, Robert E. Braden.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Hearts Church in Cardington and the burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
