Lee Michael Rizor, age 27 of Mount Gilead, died Monday morning, April 22, 2013 from injuries sustained in a work related accident. He was born July 26, 1985 to Lee and Beth Rizor (Dodd), both survive in Mount Gilead.
He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in 2003 where he excelled in football and track, finishing 8th in the State Track meet in pole vault. He was employed as a Highway Technician for the Ohio Department of Transportation and an active member of the OCSEA Delaware Chapter 2100.
He married Mary Crystal (Doup) on July 13, 2007 and together they have two beautiful children Lane and Layla who survive. An amazing husband and father who dedicated his life to his wife and children, Lee found great pleasure in the simplest of things. His love for his dog, Kaiser, cutting wood with his son Lane, father and Uncle Gary Kehrwecker, watching his son ride his four wheeler or "spit shining" his truck allowed Lee to enjoy life to the fullest.
An avid sport enthusiast, his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. Lee loved to coach his sister, Shelby and took great pride in watching her succeed. He coached youth football, girls' youth basketball and soccer. His greatest achievement was watching young athletes excel and develop as both people and players. He never missed an opportunity to harass his father-in-law on the subject of sports or prove his father, Lee Roy wrong.
Additionally Lee thoroughly enjoyed truck pulling, four wheeling, back road cruising, and fishing on Lake Erie or local pond. Grilling out for friends and family, preparing a feast on the grill or in his new smoker was important to him and for Lee was the essence of life.
