Marcia Jo Shoults McCracken Riggleman, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center from complications of an infection. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Marcia was born on January 12, 1952 to James and Evelyn (Davis) Shoults. They survive in Mt. Gilead. She graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1970, and then from Bowling Green State University in 1973 with a business teaching degree. She started teaching at the Knox County Career Center, and was there for 22 years. From there, she taught at North Central State, Highland High School, Upper Sandusky High School, and finally landed at Northmor High School in Galion, OH. She retired from Northmor in 2009.
On December 23, 1978, Marcia married David McCracken, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1994. After David passed away, she was introduced to a friend's brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Riggleman. They were married on July 15, 1995 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead where they were both members.
Marcia's loves of her life were her daughters, Laura (Matt Fiant) and Molly McCracken, and their children, Kasey & James Fiant, Hayleigh Brown, and Allyssa Pierce.
In addition to her parents, husband, daughters, and grandchildren, Marcia is survived by 2 brothers Robert Shoults of Mt. Gilead and Richard Shoults of Arizona, her aunts Elizabeth Davis of Marion and Harriet (Howard) Gompf of Cardington, her step-son Steve Riggleman and his wife Wendi and daughter Alexis of Newark, her niece Kadie-Marie (Shoults) Burks and nephews Frank Shoults of Cincinnati and Chad Shoults, brothers and sisters in law Don & Mary Sue Riggleman of Newark, Dick and Becky Riggleman of Toledo, and Jim & Pam Riggleman of Fredericktown, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours for Marcia will be held Friday April 19, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. The funeral will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday April 20th at the funeral home with burial following in Westfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to be put in a savings account for the grandchildren.
