Paul E. Fisher (Pops), 86 of Mount Gilead, died March 24th, 2013 at Olentangy Woods Nursing Facility, in Galion, Ohio.
He was born June 3rd, 1926 in Plain City, Ohio, the son of John and Myrtle (Jordan) Fisher.
Paul's livelihood was working with his family in the logging industry. On June 4th, 1947, he married Norma Jean Stimmel.
Paul dedicated his life to his family. A husband, father and grandfather, he loved the county fair and family camping trips. He was especially fond of family gatherings. Pops and Grandma babysat nearly all of their grandchildren at some point to allow the parents to work. They were sure to attend ball games, school concerts, horse shows and any other activity where the kids were involved. He will be remembered for his excursions around town on his scooter, with Jean by his side.
Paul was proceeded in death, by his loving wife of 63 years, Norma Jean; an infant daughter, Penny Fisher; Parents, John and Myrtle Fisher; six brothers, Hoy, Harold, John, Clyde, Cecil, and Mark Fisher; and a sister, Sylvia Hartsook.
He is survived and greatly missed by son, Paul II (Darla) Fisher of Oak Harbor, daughters, Pam (Hollis) Eastep of Mt. Gilead, Kim (Tom) Spaulding of Marengo, Tina (Jim Algire) of Galion; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a sister, Delphia Hall-Barr of Westerville.
A private service will be held at a later date.
