Richard David Zeger, 83, of Galion, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Richard was born in Morrow County on April 19, 1930 to the late Clarence and Imo (Wirick) Zeger. He married Patricia A. Crouser on April, 9, 1988 and she survives him.
Richard was retired from Richland Screw Machine in Mansfield. He had previously worked as a Morrow County Deputy Sheriff and also rode as a Mounted Deputy. Richard also was a farmer. He was a member of Galion Moose Lodge # 303 and enjoyed deer hunting and golfing.
He is survived by his daughter Karen Hines of Galion, his two grandchildren, Greg Hines of Lexington and Kristi (David) Drumm of Galion, two great granddaughters Sara and Emilie Drumm, two step sons, Larry (Brenda) Welty of San Antonio, TX and Scott Welty of Bellevue, a step daughter Vikki (Lester) Meeker of Butler, six step grandchildren, his two brothers Warren (Margaret) Zeger and JR (Karen) Zeger all of Galion, his sister Lucille Lahman of Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers Raymond, Kay and Cloyd Zeger.
Friends may call from 5-7 pm Saturday November 2, 2013 at the Galion Moose Lodge # 303 where a memorial service will be held at 7 pm with Rev. Brandon Quail officiating. The Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion is honored to serve the Zeger family.
