Ronald Dale "Ronnie" Hewett Jr., age 47 of Mansfield passed away Monday morning, June 3, 2013 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a six-month battle with cancer.

He was born March 1, 1966 in Mt. Gilead, the son of Ronald D. Hewett, Sr. and Susan (Drake) Hewett and graduated from Highland High School.
Ronnie worked for the former Crane Plumbing in Mansfield and had recently worked in the furnace room at SEMCO Inc. in Marion.
A lifelong area resident, he enjoyed playing cards, especially Skip-Bo. He was a movie buff and watched Braveheart at least 50 times. He loved taking day trips to Cedar Point and the Columbus Zoo as well as trips to the beach and out west. He loved watching football and was an avid Browns and Buckeye fan.
He is survived by his wife Darcy (Wittmer) Hewett of Mansfield, his children from a previous marriage, siblings Randy & Athena Hewett of Marengo, Kim Hewett of Mansfield, Orson & Bobbee Skull of West Jefferson, Orenetta & Josh Mabry of Mansfield, and Shantel &Tara Hewett of Columbus; his father-in-law Phillip & Vickie Wittmer of Mansfield, mother-in-law Debra Howard of Mansfield; eight nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by a brother Kevin Hewett.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A private graveside will be held at a later date.
