Stephen R. Boggs, age 78 of Cardington, Ohio went to be with his Lord peacefully at Hospice in Fort Myers, Fl on February 2, 2013.
He was born in Ironton, Ohio to Garney and Helen Boggs and was a 1952 graduate of South Point (Ohio) High School. He attended O.S.U., and Indiana Technical Institute in Ft. Wayne, IN.
While in the Army he attended The University of Alabama and worked with the Saturn Rocket Development at Red Stone Arsenal.
He retired from OSU School of Veterinary Medicine and then worked for Willamette/Weyerhaeuser Corrugated Box plant in Delaware, OH for 15 yrs.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Inger Boggs, and their children Selena (Jeremy) Leonard, Debbie Beam (Rob Mosher), Helka (Greg) Mickle and Andrew Boggs. Also surviving him is his beloved sister Barbara Smetzer (Richard Saughers) of Cape Coral, FL; 6 grandchildren: Christian Hunter, Selena Beam, Dale Beam, Kelsie Freshour, Nichole Freshour and Jazmin Mosher and 1 great grandchild Christian Hunter, Jr.
Steve was an active member of his community who never met a stranger and loved every one he met and knew. He was a long time member of Gilead Friends Church and a founding board member of the Gilead Christian School.
A Memorial service to celebrate Steve's unconditionally loving and caring life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday May 25, 2013 at Gilead Friends Church, 3613 Twp Rd 115 Mt Gilead, OH 43338 (Intersection CR 24 & SR 42).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Gilead Friends Church, Gilead Christian School or Hospice.
