Wanda Amick

Wanda L. Amick, age 91, of Mount Gilead, died peacefully early Monday morning, December 3, 2012, at the Woodside Village Care Center following an extended illness.

On June 24, 1921, Wanda was born in Galion, Ohio, one of eight children of the late Johnson and Alma (Amick) Goff.

For twenty seven years, Wanda worked as an assembler with United Technologies in Lexington, until her retirement.

An avid bingo player, Wanda 'loved playing bingo', which she did most often at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mansfield.

With a love for the outdoors, Wanda enjoyed spending time working in her yard and walking as often as she could. In her younger days, she also enjoyed singing on the radio.

A sweetheart, Wanda 'loved helping people' and she always made sure everyone was well taken care of.

She will be dearly missed by her two daughters: Linda Mullins, and Tana McCoy, both of Mount Gilead; seven grandchildren: April Mahaffey, Todd (Janice) Styer, Tom Styer, Tammy (Edmund) Shaw, Shawn Styer, Shane Reynolds, and Sherry Scott; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alonia Townsend of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Johnson Goff; and five sisters: Edna Sipe, Eileen Purgo, Juanita Medanco, Alva Columbus, and Beatrice Smith.

Her family will greet friends from 1 - 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead. Graveside services will follow visiting hours at 2:15 p.m. in Bryn Zion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer‚s Association, and they may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
