Wanda Vernon

Wanda Elizabeth Vernon of Centerburg and formerly of Wellston, OH, passed away.

She was born February 16, 1936 in Tazwell County, Virginia. Wanda graduated from Rio Grande College with a Masters Degree in Education and retired as a school teacher from Wellston School System after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Sparta United Methodist Church.

Wanda is survived by her sister, Ruby (Earl) Roberts of Grass Lake, MI; brothers, John (Cheryl) Vernon of Arlington, VA and David Vernon of Centerburg; niece, Leslie Dubois; nephews, Eric and Brett (Jennifer) Roberts; great-niece, Kailey and great-nephew, Carson; special children, Lori Beeman and Jim Epley; aunt, Shirley (Ira) Herndon of Cedar Bluff, VA; and an uncle, Carter (Margie) Wells of Bristol, VA.

Friends called at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, Friday from 10 a.m.-12 noon followed by a service at 12 noon. Pastor Erin Porter officiated. Interment was in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
