Margaret Jean Lynch of Brookfield, CT died at her home on August 5, 2014 at the age of 99.
Jean was born on July 12, 1915 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio to William and Daisy Beilhart. She was the cherished wife of Gerard J. Lynch, who died in 1999. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Mosher Sautter, her brothers, Robert, Harry and John Beilhart, son-in-law, Thomas Althaus and grandson, Patrick Lynch.
Before moving to Brookfield, she had lived in New Milford, CT and Scarsdale, NY.
Jean was a loving and devoted mother and is survived by her six children, Dr. David (Nancy) of New Milford, CT, Gerard (Jeri) of Honolulu, HI, Tara Jean Althaus of Tucson, AZ, Brian (GerriLynn) of South Hadley, MA, Kevin (Melanie) of Anchorage, AK, and Colin (Kelly) of San Rafael, CA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Jean loved life, being with her family and friends, traveling, cooking and bridge. Always maintaining a positive attitude toward life, she consistently saw the good in people. They loved her because she was always truthful, yet able to "tell it like it is." Her beautiful smile and warm welcoming personality will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be no calling hours. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Aug. 11, 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford., CT. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
