Phil Gibson went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2012 at Heartland of Marion. Born on May 22, 1946 in Marion, Phil was the son of James Evan Gibson and V. Elizabeth (McGhee) Gibson. He grew up in Westfield, Ohio where he spent his life until 2008 when he became a part of the Ashley Villa family.
Phil attended Elm Valley Schools. He was an active member of the Westfield Methodist Church until its closure about ten years ago. He then attended the Delaware Bible Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. He enjoyed taking long walks and watching football and basketball, especially Ohio State. His family and friends will long remember his dry sense of humor and easy smile.
Phil will be greatly missed by his siblings: Judy Gibson of Chicago, Holly (Thomas) Crowder of Panama City, Florida, Jerry (Judith) Gibson of Westfield, and Mike (Lorna) Gibson of Ashley; also surviving him are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Phil leaves his family with two important life lessons: patience in adversity and unconditional love.
