Astor A. Caudill, age 74, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born November 27, 1938, in Perry County, Kentucky, to the late Harlan and Mattie (Hammitt) Caudill.

Astor served his country in the U.S. Army and married the love of his life, Dora, on June 23, 1962. He retired from Glenwood Range as a Die Setter after 29 years.

While at Riverside, Astor was saved by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savor. An avid stamp collector, he enjoyed tinkering with antiques, especially old clocks. He could often be found playing his guitar and was truly happiest spending time with his grandchildren.

Astor is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Dora (Adams) Caudill of the home; sons, David Lee Caudill of Mt. Vernon and Dean Caudill of Marion; daughters, Donna (Jesse) Staton of Centerburg and Sharon Sue (Tim) Lucius of Fredericktown; five grandchildren: Justin Staton, Abby Caudill, Hannah Lucius, Brooke Staton, Amber Lucius; brothers, James Caudill of Columbus; Darrell (Connie) Caudill of Hazard, Kentucky; sisters, Jo (Dan) Vermillion of Ashley; Pat Hankins (Doug) of Johnsville; as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law , nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR's 3 at 61, Sunbury where a Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Tuggle officiating. Interment will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Morrow County Veterans Association.
