Beloved mother and grandmother, Ila Mae Carby, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2015. Funeral services have been set for 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 28, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Brother David Harp officiating; interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Ila was born in Clovis, New Mexico on July 24, 1954. She was employed with WesTex Telephone as a Customer Service Supervisor from December 1979 and retired in June 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Allan Carby, Sr.; and parents, GC Houston and Jo Archer Houston. She is survived by two sons, Bruce Allan Carby, Jr. and wife Yvonne Carby of Stanton, Texas, and David P. Carby and wife Sybil Carby of Midland, Texas; father-in-law, Elbert Carby of Big Spring Texas; one sister, Louise Davis of Clovis; one half-sister, Gloria Christian of Clovis; two brothers, Robert Houston of Amarillo, Texas, and Cleveland Houston of Amarillo; two half-brothers, T.J. Wimberley of San Jon, New Mexico, and Raymond Wimberley of Washington; and by five grandchildren, Kinzey Carby, Kyle Carby, Victoria Carby, John-Allan Carby, and Paisley Carby. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home & Chapel.
