Betty Jo Stewart

Betty Jo Stewart, 87, died on March 11, 2014 at Autumn Leaves in Grapevine, Texas. Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Midland, Texas. Reverend Kathryn Boren will be officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Betty was born to Bell and Venice Waggoner on July 31, 1926 in Cement, Oklahoma. She graduated from Northeast Classen High School in 1944 and studied art at Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On December 27, 1949, she married William P. Stewart at the First Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. They were married for almost 64 years until his death in November of 2013. They moved to Midland in 1952 and remained there for most of their lives. While living in Midland, Betty worked as a geological draftsman, and she spent the majority of her career with Midland Map Company. In 2012, they moved to Southlake, Texas to be closer to Autumn Leaves Alzheimers Care Facility. Betty was preceded in death by her loving and caring husband and is survived by her son Steve and wife Kristi of Houston, Texas, her son Bruce of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and her daughter Tina and husband Hayden Dee Littlefield of Southlake, Texas. Betty is also survived by her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren - Lindsay, John, Jennifer, Katie, Plear, Blake, Matthew, Andrea, and Caleb. Although Betty was an only child, she is survived by a very close cousin, Barbara Morgan and Barbara's husband Travis.
