Charles Bowie Britt

Charles Bowie Britt of Lewisville, Texas died Friday, February 22, 2013, in Plano Life Care Center after suffering from a lengthy illness. Bowie was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 19, 1923, to Mary Mitchell Britt and Dr. Charles Summey Britt who was Chief of Staff for Midland Memorial Hospital. Bowie joined the navy when he was 19 years old. When he was discharged, he moved to Kansas City to complete his coursework at a plumbing trade school. He then moved to Midland, Texas where he started Britt Plumbing Company that he owned and operated for over 50 years. He was first married to Wilburta Fugitt in 1953, and had three daughters. They were divorced in 1985. In 1991 he married Eva R. Wilcox He became a member of the Tall City Motorcycle Riders Club and enjoyed taking extended road trips on his motorcycle. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for well over 30 years and donated his services to 'Christmas in April' every year. Bowie will always be remembered for his dry wit and incredible sense of humor. Diligence, consideration for others, gratefulness, humility and his easy-going nature are attributes that will always be cherished by his loved ones. Bowie is survived by his daughters Jane Cueto and Lynn Pendleton of Carrollton, Texas and Laurie Martin of Mounds, Oklahoma; his stepdaughters, Nancy Courtney of Conroe, Texas, Cathy Frenzel of Georgetown, Texas, and Shirley Crisp of Hulbert, Oklahoma and Letita Johnson of Leonard, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife, Eva Britt and his sister, Betty Albright, preceded him in death.
