Charles Eugene Everett, 71, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at his residence. He was born August 26, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Fred Everett and Madlyn Everett Knouf. He was a retired Insurance Claims Investigator, owned and operated Everett & Company for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Everett and Madlyn Knouf. He is survived by his wife, Jerry Everett of Odessa; his sister, Marilyn Adams of Cedar Park, Texas; his brother, Fred Everett, Jr. and wife Susan of Live Oak, Texas; step-brother, Tommy Knouf and wife Judy of Virginia Beach, West Virginia; daughters, Gayle Burleson and husband Jerry of Artesia, New Mexico, and Kim Harrison and husband Stan of Odessa; four grandchildren, Cory Burleson, Bryant Burleson, Taylor Harrison, and Sean Harrison; and nieces, Ronni Sue Kamradt, Jennifer Davis; and nephew, John Adams. Charlie moved to Uvalde, Texas as a small child and grew up there, graduating from Uvalde High School and played football for Texas A&I in Kingsville, graduating with a business degree. He moved to Odessa in 1965, beginning his career in insurance claims investigations. He and Jerry enjoyed spending time with their grandkids and going to ballgames. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Jimmy Braswell under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa.
