Juan S. Fuentes

Juan S. Fuentes, "Big John," 57, of Midland, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 2, 2014 after a brief illness at Midland Memorial Hospital. Juan was born in Stanton, Texas on May 16, 1957. Juan was a carpenter by trade and did a lot of remodeling work with various contractors. He worked with Olgin Builders, and Salazar Framing for many years. He also built and remodeled many homes for family members. He enjoyed many sports, especially watching NFL football, baseball, and basketball. He loved listening to music, especially Tejano music. His favorite singer was Little Joe. Juan attended De Zavala Elementary School, San Jacinto Jr. High, Austin Freshman, and Robert E. Lee High School. He graduated from Robert Lee in 1975. During his teenage years, Juan attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He played the drums for a church music group. He is survived by his mom, Irma S. Fuentes; three sons, Michael Fuentes, Adam Fuentes, and Jacob Fuentes; three daughters, Alexandra Fuentes, Kaylan Fuentes, and Katelyn Fuentes; a sister, Rose Bernal and her husband Saul; brothers, Hilario Fuentes and his wife Esther, all from Midland; Richard Fuentes and his wife Candy, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Ruben Fuentes and his wife Lydia, of Ft. Worth, and by 11 grandchildren, three aunts and six uncles, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, Juan A. Fuentes, Sr. of Midland, Texas. A viewing will be held at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday February 6, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Final viewing will be held Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Reverend Hilario S. Fuentes will officiate. Graveside services will be held at Serenity Gardens. We Love You Juan and will Miss You! God Bless You All!
