Michael "Scott" Slawson

Michael "Scott" Slawson passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Odessa, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, November 11, 2013 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland with Reverend David Johnson officiating. Scott was born in Cleveland, Mississippi to John R. Slawson and Brenda Ouzts Slawson on October 15, 1964. At the age of 7 his father remarried Emma Lee Slawson who raised Scott as one of her own. After graduating from Lee High School in 1983, he began working for his family's company, Compressor Professionals, Inc. (ComPro Inc.), until his health recently declined. Scott spent the last 22 years married to the love of his life, Fran Kuhn Slawson, and together they raised a son, Bryan, and a daughter, Morgan. Scott will be forever remembered by those that knew him for his great heart, incredible cooking, hard work, and for always having an incredible sense of humor. He was loved by everyone who met him and he never met a stranger. Scott was an amazing outdoorsman who thrived when hunting and fishing. He had many loves in his life, the greatest were his children and his dog Emmy. Scott will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and will forever be remembered as a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, and friend. Scott is survived by his father, John; mother, Brenda DeLong; step-mother, Emma Lee; wife, Fran; son, Bryan and his wife Robin; daughter, Morgan; siblings, Barry, Mark (Sandy), D'Lynn (Doug), Karen (Chuck), and T.J.; one granddaughter, Emma, and many nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy, and brother, Cory. Scott was at peace with his Lord and Savior.
