James "Jim" Willard Hearn was born November 15, 1932 in Bradley, Arkansas to Arlene Straight Hearn and Howard Woody Hearn. He went to be with his Lord on February 19, 2014. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lora Ann Hearn, of Midland. He has five children, Debbie and Gary Elander of Midland, Caren Copeland of Midland, Craig and Cindy Copeland of Abilene, Steve and Dori Hearn of Katy, and Paul and Beverly Hearn of Midland. He was Grandpa to 10 loving grandchildren, Garrett (Avery) Elander, Haley Elander, Ryan Copeland, Chad Copeland, Katie Pagett, Douglas Pagett, Mark Pagett, Zach Hearn, Noah Hearn, and Tara Cottrell. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sue Hearn of Kilgore; nephew, Woody and Kathy Hearn of Texarkana; and niece, Wendy and Scott Richey of Kilgore. His parents and his favorite brother, Bobby Wayne Hearn, predecease him. James joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and served in the Korean War. He was employed with HL Hunt, and later, Dowell, living in Texas, Alaska and Venezuela. He was in business with his two buddies, Jim Evans and Gerald Burnett. He started Pluggers, Inc., later selling it to PP before starting employment there. He was a long time member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge in Andrews for over 50 years. The family would like to thank Hospice Midland and Christy and Rosie for all of their special care. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Midland, 911 W. Texas, Midland, Texas, 79701. A visitation for Jim will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
