Velma Bowles Flowers Wiley, 83, of Midland, formerly of Perryton died Aug. 29, 2013. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 10:30a.m. at Community Worship Center with Rev. Tim Ramsey and Rev. Mike Waterbury officiating. Internment is in the Ochiltree Cemetery. She was born June 4, 1930 in Perryton, and graduated from Perryton High School in 1947. She was a former Miss Perryton and coordinator of the Miss Wheatheart Pageant. She worked at Sal-A-Mar, and later worked as a caregiver. She moved to Midland in 2011 and resided with her daughter, Kim. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ruby Bowles; her sister, Marge Wysong; and her brother, Robert Bowles. She is survived by her son, Mike Flowers of Shreveport, LA; her daughter, Kim Cothren of Midland; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
