Anne Hamlin Parrott, 90, of Midland passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. She was born June 26, 1923, in Surry, Virginia to Charles Thomas and Margaret Savedge Hamlin. She grew up in Surry, Virginia. She graduated from Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia. She married the love of her life, Emory Wade Parrott, on September 15, 1946. They were happily married for 64 years until his passing in 2011. Anne and Emory moved to Abilene, TX, in 1948 for Emory to pursue his career in petroleum geology. Anne began her career as a devoted wife and mother with the birth of their three children. In 1957 they moved to Midland. She was an active part in the founding of the Midland Association for Retarded Citizens and the Opportunity Center. She also served for many years on the Board of the Permian Basin MHMR. She was a devoted Christian and attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was an instrumental part of the Christian Faith Mission in Midland and the Midland Community Bible Study for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emory Parrott and her son, Wade Parrott; her sister, Margaret H. Johnson, and her brothers, Charles T. Hamlin and William R. Hamlin. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Aguirre and husband Augusto of Portland, TX, and Nan Sansone and husband James of Arlington, TX, her grandchildren Christine Mendoza and husband Rudy, Jason and Matthew Sansone, and great-grandson, Diego Mendoza and countless family and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013, at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn and Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Gayle Perry, who was not only her caregiver, but friend, and to the staff of Hall 4, Mabee Center for brightening her final years.
