Barbara Ann Blocker passed away on October 8th, 2013 in Stanton Texas. She was born on August 19th 1937 in Vernon Texas to Joe and Thelma Bailey. She married the love of her life Roland "Spud" Blocker on November 27th 1956. Barbara was a wonderful mother and grandmother, to her daughter Shelley Edwards and grandson Andy Edwards. She was a loving sister to her brothers and sister, Larry, Terry and Stevie Bailey and LouElla Mansell. Barbara worked at First National Bank of Midland for 32 years. She was the President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was very active in the Veterans associations. She put a lot of her time in to helping the Veterans of war. She retired in 1999 and spent most of her retirement with her loving husband Spud in Terlingua, Texas at Big Bend National Park. She is preceded in death by her husband Roland "Spud" Blocker her parents Joe and Thelma Bailey and her brother Otha Joe Bailey. She is survived by her daughter and grandson Shelley and Andy Edwards, brother Larry Bailey, brother Terry and wife Kathy Bailey, brother Stevie and wife Shelley Bailey, sister LouElla and husband Terry Mansell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her deeply. Services will be held at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel on Monday October 14th 2013 at 2pm. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Service will be officiated by Brother Bob Porterfield. Visitation will be at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home on Sunday October 13th 2013 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
