Having fought the good fight and finished the tough race, and having kept the faith, Bobby Dean Thames, Sr., 69, passed from this journey on earth to his eternal home on March 7, 2014. He was born on October 28, 1944 to Andrew Jackson, Sr. and Eunice Hill in Oak Grove, Louisiana. He married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Twyla Smith, on February 1, 1964 in Midland, Texas. Together they devoted their lives to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their story of love leaves a lasting example of love, sharing, forgiveness and sacrifice. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and his precious grandson, Cade Andrew Thames. He is survived by his loving wife, Twyla Thames of Midland; son, Craig Thames and wife Angie of Midland; son, Mark Thames and wife Vickie of Midland, son, Bob Thames, Jr. and fiancée Nicole of Odessa. He is also survived by five other precious grandkids, Wesley Davis and wife Kandis of Big Spring, Leah Schultz and husband Dillon of Dallas, Shannon Thames and JJ Hill of Odessa, Tyler Thames of Midland and Timmy Thames of Midland. In addition, he is survived by three brothers and one sister, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Memorial Services will be on Tuesday March 11, 2014 at The Inspiration Centre of Hospice from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 4629 Andrews Hwy Midland, Texas 79703. The family asks that donations be sent to the of Midland County at 2304 W. Wadley, Midland, Texas 79705, in lieu of flowers.
