Clyde Lyndell Jones, a longtime resident of Midland passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Clyde was born July 13, 1946 in Sanger, Texas to Homer and Urena Smith Jones. Clyde grew up in Midland and graduated from Midland High School. He was employed with Century Graphics and Sign, Inc. Clyde was an avid sports fan and followed all sports with a passion. In his younger days Clyde was an exceptional basketball player and was a standout at Midland High. Clyde was the type of man who never met a stranger. Although, Clyde could be stubborn, he had a heart of gold and was a man of his word. If you met Clyde you could not help but like him. Known for his charm and humor Clyde loved life. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and was loved dearly by all his co-workers. His presence will be missed and there will never be another one like him. Survivors include his companion Sandy Trammel Lundberg, a daughter Sabrina Zunker, Sisters: Joanne Gentry, Fleta Lopshire, and Shirley Fox. One granddaughter, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Dean Jones and sister Helen Jones Churchwell. A memorial service will be Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gifts Of Hope P.O. Box 1323 Midland, TX 79702.
