Col. Robert Odom Gray, USA (Ret.), age 77, passed away July 18, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born June 9, 1937, in El Paso, Texas to Robert and Alyne Gray. From a pioneering Texas family, Col. Gray's relatives fought with Houston and received land grants from the Republic of Texas. Growing up in Midland, "Bob" graduated from Texas Tech University where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. A decorated career officer of the US Army, Bob Gray retired to San Antonio and became an award winning watercolor artist and lifetime member of the River Arts group. An avid golfer, Bob played around the US and the UK. He is survived by his sister Jane Gray of Tucson, AZ and will be sorely missed by friends and family. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 1:30p.m. in the Main Post Chapel, 2301 Wilson Way, Fort Sam Houston.
