Dorothy "Dotsy" McKenzie Murray, 73, of Big Spring, passed away peacefully at her home in company of her furry friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She was born January 15, 1941 in Pecos, Texas, to Thomas Richard and Lenore McKenzie. Dotsy lived in Fort Stockton until her junior year in high school. During the drought of the 50's, the family moved to Clinton, Louisiana where her father, a third generation West Texas sheep rancher, took a job managing a plantation to survive the drought. She graduated from Clinton High School and attended Ole Miss. A true Texan, she gradually made her way back to West Texas. She married Jim Murray on September 24, 1983. They moved to Big Spring from Big Lake in 2002. She was a homemaker and an accomplished artist, both on canvas and people's lives, and she loved all animals. She was a friend of Bill W. for over 31 years. She is survived by her husband Jim Murray of Big Spring; her daughter, Beth Brady of Wimberley, Texas; her son, Don Brady and his wife Kasi of Paso Robles, California; five grandchildren, Laura Ellen Brady, Paso Robles, California; Paris Brady and Layton Patterson of Wimberley, Texas; Colter and Cassidy Brady of Cypress Point, Texas; and one sister, Linda LeTard of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, John Tullie Brady; her grandson, Bryan Brady; and her sister, Sage (Mary Jean) McKenzie. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on August 2, 2014, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Fort Stockton.
