Gertie Lee (Franklin) Jackson, 82 yrs. departed this life on Saturday, July 26, 2014, following a lengthy illness. A Wake will be held from 6pm-8pm on Friday and the Jackie Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 1PM with Richard Oldham officiating at the Lee Street Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Jackie Warren Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson was born in Mabank, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Franklin. She moved to Midland at a very young age. She met and married Charlie Jackson and to this union they were blessed with seven children, Sidney, Linda, Carolyn, Billy, Larry, Carla and Beverly. Gertie Lee was a domestic worker for several years working for several prominent Midland families. She united the Lee Street Church or Christ and was very active teaching Ladies Bible Class and Sunday school until her health began to decline. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Carolyn; her parents; one brother, Raymond Earl; several aunts, uncles, and relatives. She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Sidney Jackson (Tracy), Billy Jackson, of Midland, TX and MSGT. Larry Jackson of Ft. Worth, TX. Three daughters, Linda Ann Cooks (Milton), Carla Jackson and Beverly Lee (Calvin) all of Midland, TX. 22 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the Manor Park (Younger Unit) staff for their professional care. Special thanks to David and Debbie Holster.
