Janet K. Johnson passed away at San Angelo Community Hospital on July 11, 2014 from complications of diabetes. Janet was born on April 20, 1942 in San Angelo. Her parents were Don and Peggy Johnson. Don was a roofing contractor and Peggy was a long time employee of Hemphill-Wells Department Store. She is survived by her brother, Jim D. Johnson and his wife Gerry of Rio Vista, California; and by two nieces, Teni Mintra of Johnson City, Tennessee and Cindy Naras of Millbrae, California. Janet graduated from San Angelo Central High in 1960. She went to nursing school in San Angelo and was an LVN. She worked at Shannon Hospital for many years and was always an advocate for her patients. She moved to Midland and worked there for a number of years. Janet retired and returned to San Angelo in 2005. As her health declined, she was given help and support from her cousins Darlene Farmer and her husband, Harold, Dorothy Johnson and her husband, David, and many friends she had made over the years. Adams-Starks handled the arrangements for Janet and burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church at 2321 Armstrong Street, on Sunday July 20, 2014 at 4:00 p.m., with her pastor, Reverend Bob Roger, officiating.
