Joe Raymond Henderson, Jr., born on June 30, 1951 in Kilgore, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 26, 2015. He grew up in Midland, Texas, later residing in Lubbock and Snyder. Joe, Jr. was a faithful, loving husband, and a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was known for his spirited and dynamic personality, and for always seeing the best in everyone and in life. His good nature and humor was infectious. He cherished his dogs as much as the people in his life. One of his greatest joys was becoming a grandfather to his precious granddaughters, Emily and Olivia. They brought unspeakable delight to his entire being. In 1979, he began his engineering career with Southwestern Universal Drilling Fluids, later acquired by Newpark Resources in 1998, where he continued his career until present. Joe, Jr. is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbra Henderson; his daughter, Jennifer Taylor (Robert); two granddaughters; his parents, Pat and Joe Henderson, Sr. of Midland; three sisters, Terri Balkey (Bill), Dayna Mast (Hank), and Sonya Buehler-Henderson; one brother, Vince Henderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Clemmons Hedges. A celebration of Joe's life will be Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, Texas on 3800 N. Big Spring St. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials to be directed to: Grand Companions Humane Society of Midland, PO Box 4371, Midland, TX 79706.

Joe was a great friend. We found each other in the oilfield but knew each other since high school. He was always helpful to me and my fledgling business. I have missed him sorely and even more so since I now can't see him on this earth.
