Mary Monette joined her heavenly father and beloved Owen in heaven November 15, 2013. Mary was born August 15th 1923 in San Angelo TX to Shelby Clement and Charlie Wilkinson Clement. Mary and her siblings were raised by her father and Aunt Laura after her mother's death when Mary was only 7. She met Owen Monette at a USO dance in San Angelo. They married as soon as he returned from the war in 1945. They had a love story that lasted 60 years until Owen's death in 2006. They lived in San Angelo, Abilene, Sweetwater, Odessa, & Poplarville, MS. They returned to Midland in 2000. She always said her children were her greatest accomplishment, she raised them with joy, strength, faith and unconditional love. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved to write poetry, cookbooks, tell and write stories. She read books until her eyes would no longer allow her to. She loved to sing and to love her family. Mary leaves her children Suzette Watkins (Tim) of Midland, Rene Monette (Vicki) of Houma, LA and Joe Monette (Sheryl) of Alexandria, VA to cherish her memory along with her grandchildren: Andrea Cepale, Scott Monette, Jeff Monette, Debra Kedet, William Monette, Randall Monette, Hailey Monette and Logan Monette as well as 11 great grandchildren. She is pre deceased by her husband Owen, son Eddie and Grandson Eric Thomas. The family would like to thank the staff of Senior Care of Midland, especially Shelia, Kim, Sara, Kayla, Casey and Amanda for the care and love they gave her in her last months. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.
