A cryptside service for Norvan E. Bourland, 91, of Rockwall will be Wednesday, June 25th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Memorial Park 5401 West Northwest Highway Dallas, Texas, 75225. Mr. Bourland passed away Saturday in Rockwall. He was born August 27, 1922, to Jimmie Robert and Auda Vowell Bourland in Nocona, Texas. He graduated Texas A&M University class of 1943, and in that same year married his wife Beverly Elizabeth Frailey Bourland. He was a navigator on a B-24 in the European Theatre during WWII. Later he was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. He was a petroleum engineer for Mobil Oil Corp. and retired in 1984. He spent the next decade traveling the world with his wife. He also volunteered with the Commemorative Air Force in Midland, Texas for over 10 years. Survivors include wife, Beverly Bourland - Rockwall, Texas; brother, Clint D. Bourland; daughter, Page A. Bourland - Dallas, Texas; son, Scott D. Bourland - Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer King and her husband David, Scott D. Bourland II and his wife Katie; and four great grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled Tuesday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
