Patricia Ann "Pat" McCaskill Estes passed away at home on June 12, 2014, after a brief illness. Pat was born December 30, 1925 in Sweetwater, Texas to Malcolm Neubert McCaskill and Lucille Virginia Heatly. After graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1945, she moved to Midland to live with beloved family members, Cleo "Brownie" Petosky, her husband Jack and their daughter Patricia Ann Petosky Darby. Pat worked for Jack at the Minute Inn Café in downtown Midland before going to work at Superior Oil Company as a well draftsman. While working at Superior she met the love of her life, Aldredge "Little Button" Estes, Jr. They were married March 1, 1947 in El Paso, Texas. She continued her work at Superior throughout WW II until the birth of her first child. Pat loved managing the family ranching business and raising quality registered Hereford cattle. After her children, Virginia and Beau were born, Pat became active in 4-H, FFA and the National Hereford Association. She was involved in the establishment of High Sky Girl's Ranch, which later became High Sky Children's Ranch. Pat was appointed to the Midland Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in 1979. She ran for office and was elected to the Board and served five terms. In 1992 she was appointed to the Board of Governors and served in that capacity until her death. In recent years, she became actively involved in the local oil industry and the operation of the family partnership. Pat was an active member of First Christian Church of Midland. The most important things in Pat's life were her family and her faith. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Aldredge Estes Jr., her sister Elizabeth Cicelle McCaskill Fambro. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Ann Estes of Midland; her son Aldredge Beau Estes III and wife Barbara Skaggs Estes of Midland; her granddaughter Bailey Elizabeth Estes of Midland; nephews Sammy Fambro, Gary Fambro and Joey Fambro of Breckenridge, Texas; and a number of great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
