Robertson Ron was born on July 10, 1936, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He embraced eternal peace with his Lord Jesus on Sunday morning August 10, 2014. He began his career as an artist and an educator in Lubbock, Texas. His two fa-vorite pastimes were following Oklahoma Sooner football and avidly playing golf after his retirement with the R group at Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. Additionally he supported Texas Tech Red Raiders as he earned his Master's Degree in Public School Guidance and Counseling. Following his Counselor position at Lubbock High School, Ron was on the original facility at Coronado High School as Counselor and the Activities director. As he began his second professional career, he relocated to Houston, where he was a successful District Sale Manager for Deluxe Check Printers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Arpie Robertson of Clinton, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his two sons, Brent and wife Janet of Midland, Texas, and Ryan and wife Valerie with their two sons, Ian and Eli of Ashburn, Virginia. Extended family included Donna Ronan, Robert Wales, Jim and Janys Leary, David Leary, Kathryn Leary, Gary and Judy Caffee, Drs. Joel and Cheryl Landry and daughters, and Alan and Michelle Schnacke and daughters. He is also survived by his lifelong friends Fred and Leslie Kolb. Open visitation will be held today, August 12, 2014 from noon until 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place at Lakeridge United Methodist Church, 4701 82nd St. Lubbock, Texas on Wednesday August 13 at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to express appreciation to The Shepherd's House and Inter-im Hospice of Lubbock for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
