Shelley Rachel Lopez, 15, of Big Spring, died Sunday, July 13, 2014 in an Odessa hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Family Faith Center of Big Spring. Interment will follow at the Trinity Memorial Park. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Shelley was born September 30, 1998 in Odessa. She was a sophomore at Big Spring High School. She was a stellar student and loved music and dancing. She played the flute in the band and had taken dance since she was five. Survivors include her parents, Adolph and Amy (Sanchez) Lopez; her little brother, Adolph Lopez, Jr.; and big sister, Meagan Lopez, all of Big Spring. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Alicia Lopez of Colorado City; maternal grandparents, Joe and Hortensia Sanchez of Big Spring; three aunts, Melissa, Gloria, and Diana Sanchez; five uncles, Joey, Jessie, Danny, Robert, and Jimmy Sanchez; her great uncle, Johnny Castillo of Colorado City; and great aunts, Ruth Orona of Dallas and Carolina Campos of Mesquite. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Buddy Lopez. Memorial donations are suggested to the Shelley Lopez Dance Scholarship fund at The Dance Gallery, 2303 Goliad Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
